Letter from Roy Bruce to Mrs Edgar Jones

Zeitun Zeitoun Camp near Cairo . 15. 3. 1915.

Dear Mrs Edgar Jones :

Thank you very
much indeed for your
letter.

I cannot tell you
at all what our future
movements will be, but
in the event of our coming
to England I will
certainly let you know.

Here we are very

comfortable & living in a
lovely climate : I am
afraid we are very far
from realising the horrors
of the war.

Cyril Hayter is with
us & sends his kind
regards. Chilton Hayter
is I believe coming out
with some of the later
reinforcements.

The health of everyone
is excellent, as indeed

it could not very well
be otherwise in this
splendid climate.

All the men are
very keen and we do
hope to be given an
opportunity to do some
serious work before long.

We were not employed
on the Canal. Horsemen
are rather at a discount
in trench fighting.

I hope that you &
your family are all well,
and also that you will
not suffer in any way
by the war.

With kind regards to
your husband & yourself.
Believe me
Sincerely yours.

Roy. Bruce.
